Stage 31[edit]

The maze is containing 102 pellets, three barbells and three capsules, four eggs (plus six hidden ones, making a total of ten), four helmets, one winged sneaker and a time of 48 seconds; there's also six secret paths in those walls at the top-left, top-right, centre, bottom-left and bottom-right of it. Besides those, there are also twelve hidden strawberries, and you shall have to eat one (or two if you had been touched since Stage 30) of the helmets to make it become a solar helmet, then fire eighteen shots at the parts of the walls that they (and the aforementioned hidden eggs) are hidden in to reveal them.

If you finish this stage without eating any bonus items (which, if you can still jump by this point, shall be a little easier), the first bonus stage shall appear.

Stage 32[edit]

This maze is containing 94 pellets (95 if you count the one power pellet), ten "greenies", ten strawberries, twelve hamburgers and a time of 48 seconds.

If you clear this stage without eating any bonus items (which, if you can still jump by this point, will be a little easier), the second bonus stage will appear.

Stage 33[edit]

This maze contains: 10 pellets, twelve eggmen, twenty-three strawberries, one winged sneaker, one bomb, and a time of 48 seconds; eating the bomb will blow up the wall in the centre of the maze to reveal an extra life, but it will also free the eggmen (unless you already ate the "fencing" strawberries). It's impossible to clear the stage by only eating regular pellets due to the maze's setup and the fact that at least one of its strawberries has to be eaten.

Stage 34[edit]

This maze is containing: 111 pellets (112 if you count the singular power pellet), two bolts and seven blobs, four helmets, and a time limit of 48 seconds; besides those, there is also a hidden bomb, two hidden power pellets and two pairs of cherries, and to reveal the bomb, you will have to eat one (or two, if you had been touched since Stage 31) of the helmets to make it become a solar helmet then fire a shot at the wall in the centre of the maze to destroy it before the L-meter runs out. Once you've eaten the bomb, the other hidden items will be revealed - but by eating a helmet, you forfeit the bonus stage.

If you finish this stage without eating any bonus items (which, if you can still jump by this point, will be a little easier), the fourth bonus stage will appear.

Stage 35[edit]

This maze contains: 108 pellets (110 if you count the power pellets), four "greenies" and three blobs, two winged sneakers, two wormholes, and a time of 48 seconds; you also have to use the wormhole at the top of the maze to come out of the other one at the top-right of it as there are no secret paths.

If you finish this stage without eating any bonus items (which, if you can still jump by this point, shall be a little easier), the fifth bonus stage shall appear.

Stage 36[edit]

This maze contains 110 pellets (112 if you count the power pellets), eight blobs and four flames, one bomb, and a time of 48 seconds; eating the bomb will blow up the eight walls at the top-left, top-centre, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-centre, and bottom-right of the maze to reveal thirty-six strawberries.

If you clear this stage without eating any bonus items (which, if you can still jump by this time, shall be a little easier), the sixth bonus stage shall appear.

Stage 37[edit]

This maze contains 93 pellets (94 if you count the power pellet), eighteen capsules, one bomb, one winged sneaker, one pair of sunglasses, and a time of 48 seconds; there is also twenty-three secret paths in the wall in the centre of this maze, and eating the bomb will blow up the central and inner parts of that very same wall. It is impossible to clear this stage by only eating regular pellets, due to the maze's setup (and the fact its bomb has to be eaten).

Stage 38[edit]

This maze contains 92 pellets (94 if you count the power pellets), six blobs, one pair of warp tunnels, one pair of sunglasses, one helmet, and a time of 48 seconds; there are also ten secret paths in the six walls at the top-left, top-centre, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-centre and bottom-right of the maze.

If you clear this stage without eating any bonus items (which, if you can still jump by this time, will be a little easier), the seventh bonus stage will appear.

Stage 39[edit]

This maze contains 30 pellets (32 if you count those power pellets), eighteen bolts, four eggs, four pairs of cherries, two roller skates, one bomb, and a time of 48 seconds; eating the bomb shall blow up the walls on the left and right sides of the maze, but it shall also free the bolts, and you have to do it. As such, it's impossible to clear this stage by only eating regular pellets - and like the tenth, twentieth and thirtieth ones, the next one isn't a boss battle.

Stage 40[edit]

The last maze contains 92 pellets, two bolts and four blobs, four roller skates, seven eggs, five extra lives, one ice cylinder, two helmets, and a time of 48 seconds; unfortunately, there does not seem to be a way to reach the extra lives, eggs, and ice cylinder, for the parts of the wall that is surrounding them cannot be destroyed (and there are no winged sneakers so you cannot jump over it to reach them). Once you have eaten all the pellets between you, the text "THANKS FOR PLAYING" will appear on the screen, and the game will immediately go back into attract mode (unusually for a game that was released in 1997 it does not have a high-score table) - and it again does not credit the then-42-year-old Toru Iwatani (for coming up with the idea) and Namco (for making it into a reality, although they did not do it exactly like this especially with regards to the controls, characters and bonus items).

However, if either Pac-Man finds the way to reach the ice cylinder and eats it, the stage will immediately be cleared but the game will not end; instead, both Pac-Mans will proceed to the forty-first stage, which is the first of the game's extra stages that cannot be reached by finishing this stage normally.
